Lessons From A Road Trip

This past weekend, my wee one and I took a road trip to Ft. Worth.  I learned a few things along the way:
  1. My child is entertaining, especially when stuck in a car.  Even with the questions of "Are we almost there?" she is easy to travel with and requires very little.
  2. An iPad is a great investment, for business and for travel (which also helps to entertain a child).
  3. Choosing a hotel based on the lowest possible price via priceline is not always the wisest choice when traveling without the male of the house.
  4. God protects the frugal.
  5. I have the most amazing friends in the DFW area, and each one loves my daughter, and me, well.
  6. Having a membership to our local Science Spectrum allowed for free entrance into the Science museum there, which is bigger and cooler than ours.
  7. The zoo is a perfect place for a game of red light/green light.
  8. It is always a good time for laughter, and ice cream.
  9. Apologizing for my short temper goes a long way to improve everyone's mood.
  10. Being honest in saying, "I am tired, I miss Daddy too," is helpful.
  11. Pondering all the blessings of the weekend makes the drive home go by very quickly.
  12. I would choose to travel with my child over most adults, she is just that good of a traveler.
  13. She and I both love adventures.
  14. No bed is as comfortable as our beds at home.
