My husband and I are going on a date tonight (be amazed)! We have the honor of helping a friend of mine celebrate becoming a Mrs. I am so excited because I love weddings. Seriously, I love them. I love watching the groom's face as his bride begins walking towards him, the look on the faces of family members, the sparkle in the eyes of the bride. I am fascinated with how each couple chooses to decorate, what they focus on, and how they share their vows with one another. The start of this new chapter of life, one that begins with the two becoming one, it gives me goosebumps.
Typically, my eyes will fill with tears at some point in the wedding. A look, the words spoken, the gentle way the groom handles his bride, a song being played, there is always something that speaks loudly to my heart. There will be a moment that my mind recalls my own wedding day and the days leading up to it (like being in two weddings in the three weeks prior to my own wedding), and the anticipation I felt that day. The beginning of a story, it's exhilerating to not know what lies on the coming pages.
In a week and a half, we will celebrate our 9th anniversary. In nine short years we have experienced many of life's turns, and we are still learning. In the darkest moments, we chose to call for help, and to remain walking this journey together, hand in hand. In the carefree moments, we have found deep pleasure and have laughed freely with one another. In the everyday tasks and the mundane life, we still choose each other. We bicker and become frustrated with one another, but at the end of the day, we still say, "I do."
Tonight, with great joy and excitement, we will celebrate the marriage of Matt and Olivia. We will pray for their new journey, one filled with unknowns, to be experienced hand in hand, sprinkled with laughter, maybe a few tears, and great excitement as they live out their love for one another. May they daily choose one another.

Oh how exciting! I love weddings too. I think every couple that is contemplating a divorce should go to several in a row. They bring back all those reminders of the beginning.
Hope you guys had a great time!
