With the holidays quickly approaching, it is easy to get caught up in the commercialism and busyness. We forget, or simply do not bother, to remind ourselves why we are doing what we are doing. Especially during Thanksgiving, many seem to be caught up in how much turkey and dressing can be consumed and what football teams are playing that day rather than pausing and reflecting on the many blessings in life. The people, the opportunities, the moments of laughter and growth, the moments that take our breath away. Stop and give pause to reflect in humble thanks on these things. Before you begin cooking and setting tables and finding yourself caught up in family chatter, find a quiet spot to give thanks, and to praise the Lord who has given them all to you.
