Zechariah 13:9God's unfailing love never ceases to astound me. Regardless of failures, shortcomings, and all out sin, He loves us still. Isn't that amazing? As I am reading the required text and Scripture for the upcoming Israel trip, this fact is more and more clear to me.
This third I will put into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
No matter what the Israelites have done, the moments they have acted in direct disobedience to what God commanded them to do, God loves them still. What He promises comes to pass. What He has set out to do, is done. Today, I am thinking on this fact and having to pick my jaw up off the ground in amazement. Friends, God loves us that much. He loves His people then, and He loves them still, more deeply than the human mind can conceive. WOW.
As for my own journey to Israel, I am still in a period of waiting for all of the land fee money that is due. God has already been so good to me, and just over half of the $2250 that is due has already been provided. Not only do the checks I receive humble me greatly, but the notes that have accompanied them have left me in tears. I am so humbled and so thankful. Really God? You have chosen me to go on this journey? WOW.
The land fee money is due August 1st, and there is a small voice in my head that wants to get a little crazy over that fact. However, I am confident God will provide, that He will see this through to completion. God finishes what He sets out to do, even when his people are unworthy and unremarkable. I find comfort in that because I fall into both categories.
Lord, may it be so. May I find the words to express and describe what you have done, are doing, and will do. May my words glorify you as I prepare for this journey, when I am on it, and in the time after it.
Friends, I look forward to the day I begin typing the blog detailing what God did, for one such as me, in his Holy City. Please continue to pray for me, for the funds still needed, and for the others taking this journey.
