Weight Loss Wednesdays

He who has health, has hope. And he who has hope, has everything.” -Proverb

Welcome back to Weight Loss Wednesday friends! Another week has passed us by, how crazy. Last week I decided to take up a spinning class at the gym I train at.  Wednesday was my first class and do you know the biggest lesson I learned?  Allow me to share with you lest you make the same mistake: Do NOT do a 50 min leg workout prior to a 60 min spin class!  Although you will burn a large number of calories, your legs will turn into jello that will want to collapse rather than move.  Yes, I did that.  Yes, I thought I would be fine.  Yes, I was wrong.  Thank you Nighttime Recovery, you are the reason I was able to walk the next day.  While I like jogging outside and the fresh air, my knee and ankle are appreciating the spinning class much more.  Now I am attending every MWF.  It is also nice to be in a group setting as misery always loves company!

My eating has been great because I am doing AdvoCare's Herbal Cleanse right now.  For the best results, healthy eating is required, so that's what I am doing.  I am also using Tosca Reno's Eat Clean For Family and Kids cookbook a bit this week.  Between that and Betty Crocker's 300 Calories cookbook, I am trying a few new things for dinner.  I love it!  Do not think too highly of me though, I choose all the recipes that look easy to put together.

In other news, I am working to put together a bootcamp class for people who want to workout in a group setting and outside of a gym.  Pray for me friends.  I love these kinds of things, and want it to benefit others and do it well.  Summer is not a highly active time for personal training either, so I think a bootcamp may be the way to go.

Speaking of doing things together, do not forget about the contest I am hosting.  Although you will be a few days behind, you are still more than welcome to join the get healthy party.  Go here for the 4-1-1!  Be blessed friends, lace up your shoes and go for a walk, play with your kids, play "tag" with your spouse, laugh, rest, and challenge yourself.  You are worth it.

Oh, I wished I lived closer to come to your bootcamp...well I think I do ;) Being so far out in the country, we don't really have a good option for a gym. A spinning class sounds like it might be fun. But I at least need to start walking again...hopefully this evening.

Take care my friend!
And thanks for joining Weight Loss Wednesday.

I would love to try a spinning class...must more motivating than me on a bike alone that is for sure!

I wish I could do bootcamp or some other fitness class. To save on money we had to cut the gym so all my workouts are at home, biking or running. One day, I keep telling myself I will be able to join again.

I wish I had any kind of exercise/fitness class available to me. But not in our small rural community. I loved your advice regarding leg workouts and spin class. LOL.

I am finally getting to start my Made To Crave group in my home tonight. We'll have salads for dinner while watching our video, have discussion time, and then we are headed out to walk! I can't wait! It's about time :) LOL

Blessings,
Mel
