WLW: Overcoming the illness

Visit Alicia at Confessions of a Snowflake for more encouragement!

Our house got hit by some respiratory bug that did not want to depart.  It was ugly, it was bad, and attacked us all.  It started with our child, and had her down for two weeks.  Andy and I thought we had fended it off, but it eventually got us last week, and we are still in process of getting rid of it.  Not feeling well, and not being well completely affects my overall wellness.  This should be of no surprise.

To help rid my body of the junk and simply because I have not done one in a while, I began an herbal cleanse on Sunday.  The cleanse is so easy, and I know it's beneficial (a friend of mine lost 10 pounds on this 10 day cleanse alone).  Once I am finished, I will resume my normal product regimen (MNS Max 3, LeptiLean, Catalyst) and an array of other products my body loves.

In spite of the lingering respiratory junk, I chos to resume my workouts this week, minus the cardio.  Back to the weights I went and whew, having laid off a week sure has made my workouts more exciting challenging.  Last week, most of what made me feel so horrible was not being able to workout due to illness, exhuastion, and the like.  Our bodies were made to move and mine not moving results in one grumpy mama.  Yes, I too, even as a personal trainer, want to shed some weight, but my focus right now is on finding a better equilibrium while my body recovers.  There are no excuses however, and I am still choosing the good foods over the comfort foods and even diverting to healthy options at restaurants.

Let me leave you with this thought from 1 Thesselonians 4:3-5, "It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God."

Be set apart, glorify God and care for yourself by choosing to move, choosing healthy, life-giving foods.  Do not make excuses, and be prepared when eating out and traveling.  You are worth it friend for you are fearfully and wonderfully made.  And, I am learning more and more that I am too.
