I've joined Secret Mom Thoughts in posting our week in review in the area of fitness. It's rather nice to just post what was done to see where I am falling short, what areas I need to work on, and so Secret Mom isn't alone! Let's move on to the recap:
Sunday - Houston Half Marathon (only burned 2000 calories)
Monday - ran from one plane to the next in order to get home
Tuesday - rested
Wednesday - STS chest, shoulder and bicep workout
Thursday - STS leg workout
Friday - STS MMA Boxing
Saturday - STS back and triceps
What I can say for sure is that I had no business doing the leg workout following the half marathon. My body is considering staging a full fledged rebellion. Thankfully, I take AdvoCare products which ease the tensions between my mind that wants to "go" and the body that wants rest. Throughout the weekend, I did not get enough rest either, which delayed my body's recovery.
Thanks to the fact I fix our dinners for the month in advance, the eating has been ok. Monday and Tuesday I felt like I ate nonstop, but as I thought about it, I did not eat enough following the half marathon. I ate somewhere around 500 (or less) calories before the race, and then proceeded to burn 2000 calories. I just didn't refuel properly so I was hungry, which is not normal for me.
