WFW: Matthew 7:16-18

WFW: Mt7:16

Matthew 7:16-18 (New International Version, ©2010)
By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?  Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Having read Crazy Love by Francis Chan, I find myself taking a look at my life to see if it is producing fruit.  What am I doing in my life that is eternally focused?  Am I doing anything?  Am I looking for places to serve, and then going and serving?  Some days, I feel like I am being obedient and doing things right.  Most days, not so much.  I realize, as is the habit of most of us, that I become wrapped up in my schedule, my responsibilities, my tasks, my life.  Is it any wonder I become antsy and unsatisfied with life?

We were created to do the work of Jesus, to further his kingdom, to know him and make him known.  If I am willing and desiring to do what He is calling me to do, I will not question, will not doubt, but simply go.  Do you know someone like that?  Someone who will give away whatever money they have in their wallet because they see a need?  The person who joyfully serves and offers to help at every opportunity.  The one who knows this life is fleeting, lasts only for a moment, and whose mind and heart are turned towards Heaven?  I do, just a handful, but I do know people like this.  They challenge me to be better, to listen more, and to act more.  They are great examples of what the rest of us should be.

Yep! I know people like that. And they do challenge me. May I strive to be more like the One who inspires them. Thanks for the inspiration my friend! Happy WFW!

life often offers us times to be more like Jesus that is what I strive to do but it is so great when we do fail that he is waiting there to forgive us
