Yesterday, we headed out to the festival that I attempted to get us to a week early. It was actually pretty entertaining. Then again, anytime there are people around for me to observe, I am pretty content. The food was incredible, and very filling (come on, biscuits from Loveless Cafe? Nothing is better) The entertainment was, well, interesting. How do I explain this?
You see, there was a girl there who yodels. That's right, she yodels. And if you have never been forced to hear song after song of yodeling, well, you just don't know what it's like to experience severe auditory trauma. Granted, it's impressive. But, it's also nerve grating after one song. One song would have been great, a 30 minute set? Wow. My darling husband and I were beginning to suffer. Luckily, a friend of ours whom we have always counted on to bring humor into any situation arrived, and in typical fashion, had us laughing and forgetting about our bleeding ears.
Aside from it being a wee bit too hot yesterday (if they had the event last week, like I wanted, it would have been more pleasant mind you), it was quite the experience. Plus, all the money raised supported the local children's home, and I'm all for that. We also bought some freshly baked goods (banana nut bread - mmmm), so it was worth it. I'm not sure we'll make it out there again, but at least we can say we have been.
